Tufts Alumni Council

The TUAA governing body is the Tufts Alumni Council (TAC). Members are nominated by the Nominating Committee of the Council and elected by alumni every two years. The ballot is available online and also mailed to Tufts alumni from each of the schools. Duties of Council Members: Members attend all possible TAC meetings, at least one per year in person or via the phone; participate actively on committees; and provide energy and leadership to improve alumni activities and alumni relations with the students and the University.

Standing committees: Alumni Resources, Alumni Weekend, Awards, Career Services, Citizenship and Public Service, Communications, Continuing Education, Development, Executive, Financial Resources, Homecoming, Nominating, Regional Programs, Student Issues/Young Alumni, and Traditions.  You do not have to be a Council member to volunteer on a committee. Participation is open to all alumni.

The Council acts through its committees to:

• Develop and maintain effective communications with alumni and other segments of the University.
• Nominate candidates for officers and new members of the Association and Council and for alumni trustees.
• Promote understanding and support of the athletic program and the University.
• Determine recipients for awards for meritorious service to the University.
• Assist in annual fund-raising efforts.
• Develop a knowledge and awareness of Tufts traditions among alumni, students, and friends.
• Provide a means for ongoing dialogue between students and alumni.
• Provide educational and cultural programs for alumni, students and other members of the Tufts community.
• Supervise the financial affairs of the Council and Association.
