New Jersey Tufts Alliance - Active Citizenship Event
Description: Tufts’ total commitment to active citizenship has struck a chord with New Jersey alumni. We’re proud of our alma mater’s proactive stance and we support active citizenship efforts in our home state.
To get the ball rolling, the New Jersey Tufts Alliance is inviting alumni to tell us about their own experiences with active citizenship. As part of our program we will also honor Lisa Goldberg Ozer J76 with our first Jersey Tufts Citizenship Award for her extraordinary acts of citizenship.
Please join us for our Tufts Salute to Citizenship in New Jersey reception. The program includes presentations by, Leslie Wishnick, J75, assisted Habitat for Humanity acquire properties for new homes in response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans; Ken Aidekman, A75, advocate for Parkinson’s disease legislation and co-founder of the Parkinson’s Unity Walk in Central Park, New York; and a representative from Tufts Active Citizens of New York to discuss the formation of their group and its operation.
The final segment of our program is reserved for your ideas on how we Tufts alumni can do more to positively impact New Jersey through active citizenship.
